On this page you will find the latest e-news and information about up-coming events.
We at CMA will do our best to keep you up-to-date with what's on and what's happened. However, we would be more than happy if there was someone else out there who also wanted to join the team and help learn how to update the website.
We will add news as and when required. To read more, scroll down.
As I type this, we are in Level 3 lockdown and gatherings of any size are not permitted. I am aware that CMA has not had a gathering of members for some time now and it is long overdue. Fortunately, the throwers within our ranks have been 'looked after' by Anne Davison, who has been the driving force at organising throws pentathlon events during the past year.
What's on ...
CMA is an Incorporated Society, therefore we are required to have an annual AGM.
Although this is short notice, I would like to have an AGM ASAP.

The format will be a brief AGM, followed by presentation of CMA Awards for past two seasons (I will keep that brief). In between sessions we will have an afternoon tea. It would be helpful if you could bring a plate of food but the CMA Committee will provide some food as well.
To assist with catering, and to ensure we have enough members present, can you please indicate if you will be attending by sending me an email (CLICK HERE). Any Athletics NZ club athlete is considered to be a member of CMA and you are all welcome to attend.
If you would like to be involved on the CMA Committee, please let me know.
If, for some reason, we cannot gather on 12th September then the next available Sunday will be 3rd October 2021— same venue, same time.
It's that time of the year when registrations for all NON-CLUB CMA members is now due.

If you are a current financial member of an Athletics New Zealand club, you are automatically able to compete at track and field events organised in Canterbury.
For the past several years, Canterbury Masters (non-club) members have been able to enter ALL Athletics Canterbury track & field events without having to join a club. However you DO need to be a financial member of CMA to compete, so please complete your registration ASAP if you intend to compete. Our year runs from 1st September to 31st August.
To see what is on each week, check out the information on the HOMEPAGE of the Athletics Canterbury website. Follow this link:
The link takes you to the Events calendar. Locate the day of the meeting and follow the online entry procedure. The entry system is the same as the one we use when entering South Island or NZMA Championships events.
This event is occuring in Dunedin from 19th - 21st November. As yet, entries are not open and more information should be available soon. I understand that there is concert in Dunedin, on the same weekend, so accommodation may be difficult to find. It might be a good idea to book your accommodation soon.
I appreciate this is a challenging time for us all and, for some, being in lockdown does make you feel very much alone. I hope you are able to still get out for some appropriate exercise and that the events we have planned can all go ahead.
I am looking forward to the start of the track & field season ... I just need to get fitter!
Regards,
Andrew Stark
